Phil Turnock

Director / QP Projects,Ltd.

Phil started his career as an electrical apprentice in 1970, having worked in the industry for 15 years he was approached by the environmental design and implementation division of International Computers Limited (ICL) to refurbish a data centre for an international jewellery company. From there the relationship with ICL developed progressing to a workforce in excess of 120 staff. His management skills and experience were recognised as the projects became larger and encompassing all aspects of the data centre construction for local and national government departments. To reinforce and recognise his skills and abilities in 2001 he gained the BICSI RCDD credential and in 2003 the NTS and since then has kept pace with personnel training within the profession more recently gaining the CDCDP qualification. Phil’s speciality has been to refurbish existing data centres whilst still in operation, which as you can imagine will always be a major challenge apart from the accepted difficulties but also to retain the ongoing daily routines that a data centre has to perform.
