Alexey Karpinskiy

Alexey has been working in IT and engineering industry for over 10 years. He started his career in 2002 as a design engineer of LAN and structured cabling systems, one year later he was appointed to the position of project manager in one of the biggest IT companies in Russia. In 2004 he founded Moscow-based engineering division to design and build complex infrastructure projects in commercial real estate and telecommunication industry. He worked with companies like Cisco, Schneider Electric and Siemens on international projects.

In 2006 he joined R&D group whose focus was on new type of objects – Data Centers. He took part in design and construction of Data Centers for the biggest clients in the Russian market – Aeroflot, Russian Stock Exchange, SvyazInvest etc. One year later he was invited by the shareholders from another major Russian IT company to hold the position of head of engineering department with the main task to develop the Data Center construction business. In three years Alexey was promoted to the head of the business unit responsible for an annual revenue of 40 million dollars, working  with “Blue Chip companies” of the Russian economy such as VTB Bank, Mobile TeleSystems, MegaFon, Rusal, Aeroflot and etc. In 2010 he was appointed to the position of Vice-President responsible for innovations and technology consulting.

In 2011 he joined Start-up Company as shareholder and senior manager. His area of responsibility covers marketing, sales and the infrastructure division which includes the engineering business in Data Centers and new building construction.

Alexey has vendor certificates in cooling, power, automation and cabling areas as well as Accredited Tier Designer certification by Uptime Institute and some certificates by Datacenter Dynamics.

In 2012 he joined the DC Professional Development team as a Russian-speaking trainer.
